Quincie Hamby

was raised in Honolulu and still calls Hawaii home. She's worked in several different fields, all of which have enriched her jewelry designs. She studied anthropology and archaeology and practiced archeology in the Southwest, as well as Central America. After her stint as an archaeologist, she owned an antique gallery for five years, which initiated her love for jewelry and jewelry design. "I was always drawn to costume jewelry and have a collection of the major jewelry designers. I'm fascinated by the people who started these jewelry houses, innovators like Miriam Haskell and Kenneth Lane. I am interested in what motivated these people, but also the constrictions placed on them due to the economic and political climate, not to mention fashion trends."
